Move of the Week for the Week of December 13, 1999

Face your opponent. As your opponent steps in and punches with his right hand, step to the outside with your left leg.  Bring your right arm back and your left arm striking forward to break the arm.

Grab your opponent's right wrist with your right hand and right shoulder with your left hand, pulling him into your right knee driving to his mid-section. Pivot 180 degrees clockwise as you step down with the right foot.  Your right hand still controls the right wrist, and your left forearm has moved down to apply arm bar pressure just above the elbow.  Drive your opponent into the ground and lay on his shoulder to hold him there, or simply get away.

Be sure to define the break before you move on, or the technique will look sloppy in demonstration and fail in practice.
