| Stand ready, facing your opponent. | As your opponent steps in and punches with the right hand, step left and forward with your left leg, executing a right hand knife-hand defense. |

| Left hand punch to the ribs. | Swing your opponent's arm around clockwise, throwing it behind him, and loading for a chop. |

| Right hand chop to the neck. | Left hand punch to the ribs, right hand punch to the ribs, left hand elbow to the head. |

| Bring your right arm in front of your opponent and your right hand under his right thigh. Push him back with your left hand as you lift his right leg for the takedown. | Continue the takedown. Maintain control of his right leg. |

| Step forward with your right leg, lifting it over your opponent's right leg. You may have to shuffle forward first. | There are several ways to force submission from your opponent from this position. Your left knee can drive into the pressure point above his right knee (on the right side of his leg). You can twist the ankle or curl the toes downward. Finally, you can force his knee the wrong direction. Any one will work, but keep his leg locked up tight. |
Practice the final submission technique to ensure that your opponent is trapped. Try several different submission techniques to make sure you have a variety to choose from. Remember, the more options that you have, the more prepared you are.
