| Reach your right arm behind your opponent's neck. | Bring your arm around for the choke. Turn your opponent's head to the side by pushing his chin as you bring your right arm around. This will help you get the choke on the vein / artery instead of crushing his airways. Be very careful when choking. Do NOT cut off his air with this choke. Also, be careful not choke too long. Every time you knock someone out, you're killing brain cells. Release the choke when he slaps out. |

| Lift your opponent's right arm with your left hand. His arm should be turned so that it stays straight. Pull his arm clockwise behind his body for the takedown. Loosen your grip on his neck as you take him down. You want the neck to be able to turn with his body (unless you're a licensed chiropractor). | As your opponent goes to the ground, finish with a left leg side kick / stomp and left hand punch (or whatever technique feels appropriate), and back away from your opponent. |
This technique is all about controlling your opponent. Redirecting
his arm puts you in control. The choke puts you in control. You maintain
control through the takedown. Controlling your opponent physically will
help you to control him psychologically. Be careful working around your
partner's neck. Start slow, and progress as your skill level allows. Have
fun.
