Move of the Week for the week of April 14, 1997
Face your opponent. Better get your hands up. As your opponent slides in with a right leg round kick, try to block the kick with your forearms. If you miss the block, the closer you are to your opponent, the less force the kick will hit you with.
Grab your opponent's right leg. Holding his right leg with your left hand, slide towards your opponent for the takedown. Grab his right shoulder with your right hand.
Sweep your opponent's left leg forward as you push his right shoulder back for the takedown. You should already have moved in close enough to throw him off balance with your body. Finish the takedown and prepare to strike
Right hand reverse punch to the groin Back away from your opponent and remain ready

This can be a very effective technique against a kicker, but make sure you want take the shot to the mid-section. If you get in close, the kick loses power, but you don't want to catch round kicks for fun (depending upon your opponent). If the kick gets past your defenses, this is a great way to ensure that your opponent stops throwing those round kicks.
