Move of the Week for the week of March 24, 1997

As your opponent steps in to punch with the left hand, step forward and right, executing a left hand knife hand defense Punch with your right hand to your opponent's right bicep, deadening the arm
Grabbing your opponent's right wrist with your right hand, pivot counter clockwise (notice foot positioning), and strike with your left elbow to the solar plexis. Follow with a downward chop to the groin. Pivot back clockwise, trapping your opponent with a wrist lock. Execute a right, front snap kick to the midsection or face.
Tighten the lock and twist forward to force your opponent to his knee. Begin to step over the arm with your left leg. Step over, bringing your legs together. Bracing your opponent's elbow against your leg, you can break the arm.
Roll forward on your right shoulder. As you roll, your legs will bring your opponent over with you. Be careful not to kick out your partner's teeth as you roll. Also be sure that his arm is bending as you go, or it could break. Finally, don't slam your partner's head to the mat by coming around too hard. After the roll, you have your opponent in an arm bar for submission or breaking.
After he taps out (or you break his arm) roll back on your left shoulder to get out. Roll to your feet and stay ready.

This technique is a lot of fun, and can look impressive with some practice. There are lots of opportunities to accidently hurt your partner, so practice slowly at first. Control means never having to say you're sorry. Have fun.
