Move of the Week for the week of January 20, 1997

Face your opponent (These pictures depict a formal setting, but the technique can be easily adapted for the self-defense) As your opponent steps in and punches, step forward with your right foot, deflecting and catching your opponent's right arm as your right elbow strikes to his face.
Throw a right hand hammer fist to your opponent's groin. Drive your right elbow up into his chin.
Step past your opponent's right leg and execute a hip throw (drive your hip back into your opponent's hips to raise him off the ground and take him down). Finish with a strike to the groin, solar-plexis, or other vulnurable target.

When moving in on an attacker, remember that the most important thing is to move your head away from the path of your opponent's strike.
