Move of the Week for the week of January 13, 1997

Face your opponent As your opponent steps in and punches, step forward and left with your left foot, deflecting and catching your opponent's right arm.
Throw a right leg round kick to your opponent's mid-section. Step down with a chop to the back of the neck.
Deliver a left knee to the head. Drive your opponent's face into the ground by pushing down on the shoulder as you pull back on the arm (a wrist lock here helps). If you allow him to get his shoulder under him a little, he can roll out of this final position.

Timing is very important in this technique. Your opponent will pile his forward momentum onto the power of your round kick if you time your lateral move correctly. Remember, that round kick needs to double over your opponent or the technique falls apart (but you can improvise).
